This Place is Amazing!

Hey! Wow this place is amazing! My comp is really cool! We get along really well. He is so funny! I can make him believe anything I want to...not that I should be practicing lying, but its too easy. His girlfriend got engaged when he was four and a half months out and its really weird cause she was 5 foot nothing, brown hair, tiny, going to school to be an elementary school teacher...etc. Its crazy and we do a lot of the same things...and so(we even use the same pens) he thinks that pres put us together to help me get through a dear john...when he got dear johned the guy marrying his girl called his apartment here in Spokane and rubbed it in his face...yeah he was a jerk and it set him back a little, but I do admire that he is still here and he works very hard! He really is awesome I couldn't ask for a better trainer! But since he has been out for 21 months he is going home soon. He lives in Logan, Utah and so I told him that in your letter you said no matter who my first comp is that you would hate them because you knew they were coming home before me and that you hate them and would not date them! LOL he believed me of course, but i told him J/K. Oh his name is Elder Clyde BTW. So I stopped by David and Jane's the first night we got here, we were staying over night at some neighbors houses, and I asked the guy driving us if he knew Dave or Jane Wilcox and he said he has only known Jane for a really long time, why? And so I told him. And he took us on a detour and we stopped by but just David and Izzy were there. But I'm not in their area. I am in North Spokane area and in the River Ridge Ward. I was hoping to get to see Piper! And Jane too because I know her a little better. But David was cool. It was funny he answered the door and I shook his hand and said hi to Izzy and asked if Jane was there and he gave me a pretty weird look and said "How do you know Jane?" LOL So I am really glad that you liked the flowers! So when we first got here we contacted a lady who Elder Clyde had tracked into earlier, and her name is Billie. She is an older lady and she is dying of liver failure. But she is really nice, and anyways, she says to us "yeah tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not going to see any of my family." and so we said well we will come by and see you. And the she says, "you will?" and we said Yes! And she said "oh that would be just great, I would love that, in fact I will get some cake and ice cream!" So we went and saw her the next day, and for her present we vacuumed her house and then sang her happy birthday and had cake and ice cream and taught her the first lesson. She was so thrilled and it was awesome. We have a return appointment for Wednesday. I think it Will go well. We also taught her about the priesthood and gave her a blessing and so I hope she gets feeling better. So my comp is pretty funny. He wanted to write you, so I told him to go ahead. You are so cute, I love pulling out your pics! Feel free to send more, and more, and more and more and even a little more! They never get old! Tell Maddie and Bailey that they are awesome and I loved their little letters! They are so cute. I wish I had more time to write...maybe I will write em next time! Anyways I love you so much! Elder Goob's First E-mail from Spokane

hey how are you?!?! ok so i have to confess i went to london for just a few days and bought some things.... but now i am back and so no worries they are going to let me stay on my mission... :D lol ya so what the freak?!?! thanks for taking care of that for me mom! i hope i still have some money... so ya this area is so sweet! im technically in north spokane area but it is like the southern most part.. i am in the river ridge ward... it is so beautiful! and yes my bike made it just fine (just ask my butt....) and my bedding and everything. its all good! my new comp/trainer is Elder Clyde. he is way cool and he is from logan utah! he is a cyclist and so he rides m e up and down this hill like 50 times a day... so dont be surprised if i tear the legs out of all my pants because my legs get even more buff than they already are... :) so dad i am glad to hear that you are going to have to buy me golf! i mean i really hate to say it but.... I TOLD YA! ya i have been figuring that out though i am pretty much the smartest person in my district... lol no but me and my comp get along really well! and he still wants to work and be obedient and he has been out for 21 months! so he set his mission goal for babtisms at 50 and he has 31 so far and so in 3 months we are going to get 19! and so far we are working pretty dang hard to do so. so far we have 1 babtism scheduled for the 28th of this month and then one for like the 18th of next month or something but we got 6 new gators this week and so hopefully we can work on those! ya so in this area our p-day is monday but if we dont go play basketball over with the ward on tuesday then the ward mission leader gets really mad and calls pres clark and complains and so it is perfect because i pretty much get to play basketball twice a week! and we are the only area that gets that! AND!!!!! members own a golf course in my area and we are the only area to get free golf too! wow cool huh! i know after elder clyde leaves i am really going to have to get humbled...!!! :D so ya this area is way cool and the ward has committed to giving us 20 refferals a month!!! oh ya! they are way active in our missionary work and its awesome! ok so i got a story for ya... we were tracting on friday night and we went by this recovery for christ thing at this cbc church and so we went in and went downstairs and they give out free food and people come from all over and they are like trying to break addictions and things and so we went and got in line to get food (it was right after our dinner appointment) and so ever yone was like saying hi to us and wanting to talk to us and PASTOR DAN! (the man in charge) (the scammer) was getting pretty pissed that we were there.. lol well cause we were at his church... but anyways we got food and then we went to sit down and there were 2 tables with 1 open seat each and so we split up... my comp trusts me for some reason.. and so i sat next to this painter guy and we started talking about that and he started asking me all these questions and stuff and so i just WHAM! started teaching him .. ya and it was more of a conversation tho and i mean he started asking me stuff well anyways dan's little minion friend like came up to the table and sat directly across from me.. like sticks his arm out at me with his palm and fingers right at me and closes his eyes and starts mumbling something... he was pretty much putting a curse on me :) and so i had this funny look on my face and me and that guy just kept talking well the guy gets up and leaves and 3 mins later pastor dan comes down with him and walks right up to me and shakes my hand and says hey ours are ours and yours are yours ok? i just kinda was like hmm alright ...even though we talked to like 12 mormons that were there that night that were just less actives.. he had no clue. but ya so his little minion made me laugh but then we left but it was good because the guy i was talking to (shem) he didnt want to meet with missionaries until that guy cut us off and then i was like well i really want to finish our conversation but i dont want to offend anyone and so i agreed and i got his phone number ... :D so thanks pastor dan! oh geez lol there are so many churches here! its nuts. but anyways mom if you watched that OCD program alone... then how can u tell people that you are NOT OCD??? :) lol im jk.. a little... :D well the pres and his wife are amazing! its awesome they are so dedicated to the w ork and they really love all of us! but hey thanks for being to nice to shannon! it really makes me feel good that my family cares for her so much you guys are awesome! she means a lot to me so keep it up! i love you all very much! mom tell grandma that she is so sweet and i am really enjoying all of her treats! tell grandma and grandpa penman hi! and janet and dave. tell cam that i had on the flower power tie he gave me and everyone thought it was awesome tell them all hi! and james and jen and shell and tyler! tell them all hi and i love them all! things are great out here! i even did my own laundry today! and for breakfast i made us pink crab meat omlettes! they were fantastic! lol but i will be cooking quite a bit my comp needs the grub. but if there is anything that i missed i am sorry but i love you all very much and i want to hear from everyone! take care and let me know how your scripture reading is going! take care of yoursel ves!
